Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • El envío no ha sido publicado previamente ni se ha sometido a consideración por ninguna otra revista (o se ha proporcionado una explicación al respecto en los Comentarios al editor/a).
  • El archivo de envío está en formato OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF o WordPerfect.
  • Siempre que sea posible, se proporcionan direcciones URL para las referencias.
  • El texto tiene interlineado sencillo; 12 puntos de tamaño de fuente; se utiliza cursiva en lugar de subrayado (excepto en las direcciones URL); y todas las ilustraciones, figuras y tablas se encuentran colocadas en los lugares del texto apropiados, en vez de al final.
  • El texto se adhiere a los requisitos estilísticos y bibliográficos resumidos en las Directrices del autor/a, que aparecen en Acerca de la revista.

Article

  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and follow the editorial standards of the journal.
  •  
  • Articles may have a maximum length of 10,000 words (no minimum length) and must be composed of a title, abstract (in Spanish and English) of a maximum of one hundred and fifty (150) words, a list of three (3) to six (6) key words, the body of the work and a bibliography.
  •  
  • Articles that present research results, theoretical reflections or complete historiographical balances are received.
  •  
  • All texts (articles, reviews, transcripts, etc.) must be sent in Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, with one and a half spacing (1.5 cm), with 3 x 3 cm margins and in letter size.
  •  
  • The author's name must not appear in the text file. Your data must be submitted in a separate attached document, which includes name, email, academic training, institutional affiliation, current studies and publications in books and journals (optional); also, specify whether the article is the result of research, a course, a project, etc.
  •  
  • Quirón requires presentation and citation standards in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style, among other notes that must be followed to the letter in the Instrucciones generales para autores

Essay

  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and the editorial standards of the journal Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista
  •  
  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • Essays may have a maximum of 10,000 words.
  •  
  • The structure of the Essay must have a Thesis (basis), Introduction, the argumentative development of the body and Conclusion. The essay must contain what the author tries to demonstrate, his position or point of view; the reasons, evidence or proof of the main premise and the assertions or foundations that support it.
  •  
  • It must contain footnotes and bibliography used.
  •  
  • All texts (articles, reviews, transcripts, etc.) must be sent in Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, double-spaced (1.5 cm), with 3 x 3 cm margins and in letter size.

Interview

  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and the editorial standards of the journal Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista. 
  •  
  • Interviews may have a maximum of 7,500 words.
  •  
  • All texts (articles, reviews, transcripts, etc.) must be sent in Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, double-spaced (1.5 cm), with 3 x 3 cm margins and letter size.
  •  
  • It must have a brief introduction, of a maximum of 800 words, in which the profile of the interviewee is presented, the context in which the interview arose, the purpose of carrying it out, the result obtained and the importance of its publication.
  •  
  • The text must contain footnotes in which concepts, terms or other content that is unknown or not clear in the words of the interviewee are explained.
  •  
  • An authorization letter must be sent with the interview file, in which the interviewee confirms that he/she was interviewed and authorizes Quirón to publish it in an edition of the journal. Review

  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and the editorial standards of the journal Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista. 
  •  
  • Reviews can be about published books or films without restriction on the year of publication and may have a maximum of 2,000 words.
  •  
  • All texts (articles, reviews, transcripts, etc.) must be sent in Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, double-spaced (1.5 cm), with 3 x 3 cm margins and letter size.

Transcription

  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and the editorial standards of the journal Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista
  •  
  • Transcriptions published in Quirón must comply with the standards proposed by the Editorial Committee, which are based on the Album of Hispanic American Paleography of the 16th and 17th Centuries. These standards apply to manuscripts of any period.
  •  
  • Transcriptions must be a maximum of 10,000 words, and must be composed of an introduction of at least 2 (two) and a maximum of 4 (four) pages (not counted within the 10,000 words).
  •  
  • The original structure of the document must always be respected, maintaining its division into parts, chapters, books, etc., without deleting the marginal notes or the headings that accompany the text. Therefore, the consultation link must be shared or legible images of the original document must be sent to be able to demonstrate the fidelity of the transcription.
  •  
  • The spelling of the document must be respected and abbreviations must be developed.
  •

Translation

  • Texts are published in Spanish and English.
  •  
  • All persons interested in submitting their texts must follow the General Instructions for Authors and the editorial standards of the journal Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista. 
  •  
  • Translations may have a maximum of 10,000 words, and must consist of an introduction of at least two (2) and a maximum of four (4) pages and the body of the text. Likewise, it is mandatory that the text has authorization from its original author in order to be published.
  •  
  • All texts (articles, reviews, transcriptions, etc.) must be sent in Word format, with Times New Roman font, size 12, with one and a half spacing (1.5 cm), with margins of 3 x 3 cm and in letter size.

Crónica de Archivo

  • Se publican textos en español e inglés.
  •  
  • Todas las personas interesadas en envíar sus textos deben seguir las Instrucciones Generales para autores y  las normas editoriales de la revista. 
  •  
  • Crónicas de Archivo es una sección que pretende dar a conocer distintos acervos documentales de interés para la investigación histórica. Invitamos a estudiantes e investigadores a que envíen textos breves que brinden información acerca del contenido de estos repositorios, la institución encargada de su resguardo, sus condiciones de acceso y su potencial investigativo.
  •  
  • Los escritos no deben superar las 2,000 palabras y deben respetar las normas de publicación de Quirón (ver Instrucciones generales para autores). En este corto escrito se puede dar una amena y fluida descripción, que, sin escatimar en detalles, sumerja al lector en el espacio y lo anime a utilizar dicho repositorio ya sea con fines investigativos o por el placer de aprender.
  •  
  • Si tiene, se debe anexar el link para consultar la página web del repositorio y sus índices o bases de datos.

Memorias

Buscando fortalecer y dar mayor visibilidad a los ejercicios investigativos de los  estudiantes, la revista Quirón y el Encuentro de Estudiantes de Historia (EEH) de la Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y Económicas, sede Medellín, realizado anualmente, se unen para recopilar las ponencias presentadas por jóvenes investigadores de diversas disciplinas, participantes de las ediciónes del EEH, a partir del año 2016.

Un trabajo conjunto, que recopila las ponencias en un espacio nombrado Memorias, fruto del diálogo y el debate en torno a interrogantes y respuestas de los trabajos investigativos presentados en el EEH.
