Book Review: Gutiérrez, F. (2020). ¿Un nuevo ciclo de guerra en Colombia? Debate

Abstract

This is a text by the anthropologist and PhD in political science Francisco Gutiérrez Sanín, in which he reflects on the possibilities of success or failure of the peace agreement in Colombia, in light of a general evaluation of the implementation carried out until 2020. In this way, Gutiérrez Sanín presents a sharp criticism on the unfulfilled state agendas in the implementation period and the seriousness of these failures, a matter that alarms the reader on issues such as: the costs of failing to comply with the agreement in a post-conflict society, the programmatic oppositions to peace, the waste of favorable contexts to implement it, among other particularities that become symptoms of a society that is currently entering a third cycle of violence.
